On Friday 4th October 2019 employees from our Leicester office, along with our customers and other local businesses, helped to raise over £700.00, by supporting The World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The first ever Macmillan coffee morning was back in 1990 and since then the Macmillan coffee mornings have raised over £200 million to help support people facing cancer. For more information on why Macmillan run ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ please visit https://coffee.macmillan.org.uk/about/why/.
Based on the success of our previous coffee mornings we decided to hold a coffee morning and open day, with help from suppliers SonicWall and Lenovo. We invited customers from our local area to join us for a catch up over a cup of coffee and a homemade cake, learn more about IT3000 and our suppliers and to, of course, help raise vital funds for people facing cancer.
As with previous years all of the cakes were baked by IT3000 employees and were enjoyed by staff, customers and neighbouring companies.
As a new addition for our 2019 coffee morning we raffled off a delicious homemade 4 layer mango and passion fruit victoria sponge cake, which helped raise extra money towards our whopping £725.48 total.
Kathy Ward, IT3000, who helped to organise the day says: “I would like say a huge to thank our customers for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us for our coffee morning and open day. I'd also like to thank our talented employees and their families for providing so many delicious baked goods. We hope that our donation will contribute towards Macmillan’s amazing work, providing focused support to those living with cancer”
We are already looking forward to our 2020 event where we hope to produce even more delicious treats and beat this year’s exceptional total of £725.48.
