We are seeing an increase in the number of scam callers masquerading as Microsoft engineers .
They operate by calling phones, both mobiles and landlines, requesting that you press a number to be put through to Microsoft. This typically results in a large charge on your phone bill.
Other forms of tech scams may claim that there is an issue with your PC, laptop and tablet and will then try to use this to get you to part with personal and financial details.
What should you do?
There should be no reason for Microsoft to contact an end user directly.
If you receive a call and are at all unsure hang up immediately and contact IT3000 on 01455 247 830. Do not press any keys or dial any numbers they give you and do not part with any personal or financial information.
